Bicyclist Killed by Suspected Drunk Driver in Tehama County

antelopemain.jpgRED BLUFF - A 73-year-old Red Bluff woman was hit by a suspected drunk driver Saturday evening in the Red Bluff City Park, KRCRTV.com and the Redding Record-Searchlight reported. The victim, Wanda Pridemore, 73, was riding a bicycle in downtown Red Bluff when she was struck by a dark-colored Dodge pickup truck at the intersection of Antelope Boulevard and Main Street. The fatal car vs. bicycle accident was reported at 5:33 p.m. The driver of the pickup truck, Victor Hugo Rodriguez, 31, of Red Bluff, fled the scene. Witnesses followed the vehicle and boxed his vehicle in, detaining him until police officers arrived.

Pridemore was flown to Enloe Medical Center in Chico, where she died. Rodriguez was arrested and booked into the Tehama County Jail with no bail set on felony charges of murder, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving under the influence.
